PolaVisor® Frequently Asked Questions
What is a polarizing device or filter?
Light, which reflects off surfaces such as pavement, water, snow and automobiles produces reflections commonly known as "glare". To filter out this glare, a polarizer is used; such as in special lenses for high quality sunglasses, ski goggles and camera filters. PolaVisor® is precision manufactured with the same type of polarizing material. See: How polarizing material works.

Is PolaVisor® the only polarized automotive anti-glare visor?
We did not invent the polarizer, but as far as we know, PolaVisor® is the first, perhaps the only, anti-glare automotive visor with a polarized filter available! We like to hear from you if you know of any other automotive visor with a polarized filter.

What is the difference between PolaVisor® and other automotive visors?
Removable anti-glare visors for automotive have been around for a long time. In fact, there are many different kinds available on the market. The problem is none of them can reduce dangerous glare efficiently. From appearance, PolaVisor® looks like other visors; but the lens material of PolaVisor® is totally different with much superior quality. Lens of PolaVisor® is polarized. Polarizer has been proven to be the best way to reduce reflected glare. Lenses of other visors are made with colored plastics sheets.

How is PolaVisor® constructed?
The PolaVisor® consists of a thin polarizing film laminated between two pieces of high quality, acrylic lens material. The material is similar to that used in expensive polarizing sunglasses.
Who will benefit by using PolaVisor®?
Everyone! Drivers who wear eye glasses with prescription lenses and those who do not wear sunglasses will particularly benefit. Even front seat passengers will benefit if an additional PolaVisor® is installed.
How efficiently does PolaVisor® reduce glare?
While it is impossible to reduce glare and reflection completely, depending on brightness and the direction of sunlight and the angle of reflection, PolaVisor® reduces glare up to 99%! Colored plastic "visors" on the other hand, only reduce glare about 6%. In addition to reducing glare, PolaVisor® does not dim or distort objects; on the contrary, the inherent characteristics of PolaVisor® makes objects clearer. PolaVisor® also reduces eye strain and fatigue - excellent for highway and long distance driving!

We do not recommend this because the glare caused by car headlights is different from glare caused by sunlight. Winford Industries has developed a unique anti-glare visor specifically for night driving. GlareBuster®
